I am an academically and commercially astute accountant and a tax consultant with a passion for assisting entrepreneurs in growing their businesses from startups to thriving enterprises and generally ease their administrative burdens to focus on the bigger dream.

With in-depth knowledge of accounting and tax principles and practical business experience on the obstacles associated with startup business success, I have proved an ability to guide entrepreneurs in implementing cloud-based accounting systems. In addition, my practice takes care of the mundane administrative tasks that startup entrepreneurs leave behind while they focus on their big idea. For example, they tend to forget that producing good financial data is of utmost importance when building a business that will, in time, require financial assistance.

I matriculated in 1995, after which I enrolled for my BCom Accounting degree with UNISA. My working career started in 1996 as a bookkeeper in the manufacturing industry, where I gained valuable experience in the variety of transactions associated with the manufacturing industry. The in-depth operational knowledge in Inventory, Customers and Suppliers gives me an industry edge, as most accountants miss out on that valuable practical experience when going into articles directly after their studies. The operational experience I gained in bills of materials, kit issues and the more intricate detail involved in the manufacturing accounting environment flamed my passion for manufacturing accounting and systems implementation. In 1999 I was recruited by an auditing firm, Eksteen, Louw and Badenhorst Incorporated, to start my CA(SA) articles, which I completed in 2002.

My training during my articles was extensively varied. I was introduced to all industries and gained vast experience to produce financial statements, audits, bookkeeping, payroll, and tax compliance. In 2002 I was promoted to Audit Manager leading a team of 25 article clerks, which I had the privilege of mentoring for four years. In 2007 Hychem Chemicals (Pty) Ltd recruited me as their National Group Accountant, where I was at the head of the financial division. However, my dream of having my own accounting practice kept knocking and being an entrepreneur myself, I ventured into this scary world as a business owner in 2008. I still love every minute. The practice has grown from humble beginnings to one with a staff complement of five, each specializing in a specific aspect of the business.

I aim to fuel my clients’ business success, firstly through the transference of knowledge and experience, and secondly by taking care of the administrative aspects of their businesses. In my experience, lack of proper financial recordkeeping is the cause of the downfall of exciting entrepreneurial ideas, as finance applications heavily rely on accurate financial data.

Name Reservation

Any company may be registered with or without a company name. Reserving a name required at least three (3) proposed names in order of preference to allow CIPC to authorise one of the three (3) proposed names.

If a reserved name is not included in the initial application, the company will be registered with its enterprise number. A name may then be added at a later stage through a name amendment, however this will open a new engagement and cost extra. A name amendment requires an approved name reservation and a special resolution to effect a change to the Memorandum of Incorporation (MOI), and this will also open up additional engagements increasing the cost of the initial registration, therefore not suggested for the initial registration of your company.
